The meeting will also assist the Population Division in preparing the report of the Secretary-General on possible options for appropriate follow-up to High-level Dialogue to be considered by the General Assembly at its 63rd session in 2008 as requested in General Assembly resolution 61/208 of 6 March 2007.</p> <p class="rtejustify">The objectives of the Meeting are: (a) to discuss outcomes and follow-up of the first meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development, which was organized and hosted by the Government of Belgium in July 2007; (b) to consider preparations for the second meeting of the Global Forum, which will be organized and hosted by the Government of the Philippines in October 2008; (c) to exchange information on current and planned activities in the area of international migration, and (d) to exchange best practices and future plans on the use of surveys in collecting data relevant for the study of international migration.</p> <p class="rtejustify">Organizations which have carried out or are planning to carry surveys that provide information on international migrants or on issues related to international migration have been requested to provide the following information:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Title of survey programme or project.</p> </li> <li> <p>General purpose of the survey(s) carried out.</p> </li> <li> <p>Country or countries covered by the survey(s).</p> </li> <li> <p>Time frame of the survey(s).&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>National agencies or institutions collaborating in carrying out field work.</p> </li> <li> <p>Type of sample being used (probabilistic, purposeful, snowball…).</p> </li> <li> <p>Primary sampling unit (household or individual?).</p> </li> <li> <p>Was the survey specifically designed to study international migration or has a migration module been added to an existing survey?&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Types of populations covered: migrants at destination; return migrants at origin; non-migrants at origin; non-migrants at destination; proxy respondents for migrants abroad.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Are specific types of migrants the focus of attention?
