Are you ready for the unexpected? Many people don't think about it until it’s too late. There are several steps you can take to be better prepared for emergency situations. The Department of Operational Support (DOS), in collaboration with the Office of Emergency Management of New York City, is pleased to invite you to a Personal Preparedness information session intended to provide information about the basics of emergency preparedness in New York City. Join us to learn how you can plan in advance and be better prepared.

Prior to the session, it is highly recommended that you complete the programme “Are You Ready?” developed by DOS, in collaboration with the Department of Safety and Security (DSS), the Department of Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance (DMSPC), the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) and the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) on the .

Using an immersive and interactive storytelling approach, the programme covers areas such as emergency readiness, psychological readiness, understanding the Malicious Act Insurance Policy, Workers' Compensation in accordance with Appendix D of the Staff Regulations and Rules, personal preparedness aspects of health and life insurance, insights into the UNJSPF perspective on personal preparedness, and financial readiness.
