In November 1979, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) adopted Resolution 1/79 at its conference, inviting FAO member countries to observe World Food Day every year on 16 October. This year marks the 41st observance of the Day. This World Food Day is the second to be marked during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had devastating repercussions for food security worldwide.
