Ahead of next month¡¯s Summit of the Future where world leaders are expected to commit to rebooting international cooperation, members of the Kenya¡¯s civil society met to discuss the proposed Summit outcomes, and the collaboration needed to implement the finally-agreed global agreements in the country.   

Viola Cheptoo started a foundation to create awareness and support GBV survivors. They visit schools, youth training camps, and churches, educating young girls on the red flags to watch out for and stressing the importance of speaking out against violence.

The statue ¡°Kwibuka Flame of Hope¡±, a gift from the Republic of Rwanda, was installed on 11 September in the north garden area at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Kwibuka flame symbolizes the resilience and courage of Rwandans since the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, when more than one million people were systematically killed following years of misinformation, disinformation and hate speech exacerbating ethnic tensions.
