New York, 29 April – The DPI Safeguards initiative, jointly led by the Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology (OSET) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), released its Interim Report today. New York, 4 March 2024 - The multi-stakeholder working groups for Digital Public Infrastructure Safeguards Framework began their work on 22 April 2024. The initial framework is scheduled to be unveiled in September 2024 at the Summit for the Future. Read the full press release here.

The "OSPOs for Good" Conference Report is now available. Held at the United Nations Headquarters on 21 June 2023, the conference convened over 60 leaders from 15 nations to explore Open Source's role in achieving the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

2021 STI Forum side-event: Digital Cooperation to Leave No One Behind: Implementing the Secretary-General’s Roadmap, 4 May 2021
10th Anniversary of RightsCon, 7-11 June 2021
RightsCon was an important opportunity for the Office of the Envoy on Technology to engage with civil society stakeholders and partners on the Secretary-General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation. At a community labs session, the Office, together with the Governments of Canada and of Mexico, and UN Women gathered feedback on the definition of 'digital inclusion' and the related framework for metrics. The Office also convened a virtual roundtable of the digital human rights recommendation group as well as spoke at sessions on civil society engagement in the Roadmap process, development of UN systemwide guidance on new technologies, and private sector engagement.
