As part of the Revitalization of the General Assembly and to support a wider participation and contribution by Members of the General Assembly to strengthening the relationship between these two principal organs, the proposed workshop would target heads and delegates of political sections and those who follow the GA Revitalization at Permanent Missions, as well as the head and members of the peace and security team of the Office of the PGA.

The workshop aims at facilitating a greater engagement of the membership in the Debate on the UNSC annual report; improving the participation of delegations at wrap-up sessions of the monthly presidencies of the Council; providing tools to support the quality of engagement and contributions to the UNSC Open Debates; and addressing the issue of special reports including within the scope of Resolution 76/262 (鈥淰eto Initiative鈥).

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) New York office is organizing a side event together with a team of Brazilian scholars (professors and Ph.D. student) to bring data-intensive insight into the United Nations processes.
